There have been a lot of Filipino comics coming out. There are also many such on the Interwebs at the moment. I admit that I am not as well versed in such as I would like to be, and I haven't had all the time I would like to research and delve into Filipino comics. But I must say, that what I really want to see is for Filipino comic artists to STOP trying to do a Filipinoized version of the Avengers or whatnot. We DO NOT NEED to see a Captain America for the Philippines. We DO NOT NEED to see the Filipino version of the X-Men. And the rant goes on and on.

What I desperately want to see is for some new talent, some absolute unknown, to burst onto the scene of Filipino comics with something other than a Filipino version of the superhero comic. I want to see something other than flexing thews and stylized babes. I want something that would truly be something of the Philippines, NOT the Filipino version of something else.

And thus ends my rant.

If anyone is interested in doing art, I am more than willing to do story and colours.

The project is basically a graphic novel. The entire thing will probably run for around a sixty or so pages. The pencil work will not (theoretically) be very heavy. The story can be given up request.

In a nutshell, I need someone to do pencils. Rough and sketchy is fine, I plan to do a lot of photomanipulation, colouring, and rendering combined with pencils. I can do all of the above except for pencils.

I'm looking for a style that's not anime. The story is disturbing and dark, and I have yet to be proven wrong in my opinion that the manga style of drawing cannot well express the dark gritty noir style.

This is how it works. Show me love. Show me what love is, what heartbreak is, what longing is. I want you to show me a bleeding heart or a soul that has taken flight on the lightness of a soul in love. I want you to show me any of these things, and I want it in art.

You can basically do whatever it is you want, but it has to show me any of these. All entries must be noted to me with the subject "TALKPINOY CONTEST ENTRY".
